Liz, would like to hear your comments or suggestions for someone having trouble sleeping. Getting to sleep is not a problem, it is staying asleep that is the issue. I usually go to bed at 10 PM and then starting waking up about 2:00 and every hour or so after that until the alarm goes off at 5:00. This has been happening for years.
JRM, The best suggestions I have for not being able to sleep and not knowing anything about your daily routine is to drink somthing warm such as a tea that contains or or more of the following ingredients: Chamomile, spearmint, lemongrass, blackberry leaves, orange blossoms, hawthorn berries and rosebuds.
If you are taking prescription medication, pregnant or nursing, consult your health care provider prior to use. If you have allergies to the daisy family you may be sensitive to chamomile. Do not drive or operate machinery after consuming tea with one or more of these ingredients.
Couple other suggestions - deep breath exercises or the 61 point meditation, either of these can be don if you don't want to get out of bed. Some times a quick walk about the house will relax the mind and body enough to go back to sleep.
Finally, a consistant exercise, clean(er) diet, and massage routine may help.
Liz
